Mrs. Joan (Goines, Hileman) Mulkey, age 77 of Cape Girardeau, died at 8:46 a.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015 at her home. She was born February 21, 1938 in Anna, the daughter of Lester Paul and Velma Gladys (Barker) Fear. She married Herbert S. Mulkey on March 24, 1999. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2011. Joan is survived by three children, LaDonna Clymore, Phillip P (Beth) Goines, and Tommy E. (Michelle) Goines; four grandchildren, Kim (Chris) Gibson, Heather Goines (Shawn) Evans, Valerie (Andy) Rhymer, and Michael (Madison) Goines; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Preston, and Ethan Rhymer, Payton Strobel and Anniston Evans; one step-daughter, Ann Mulkey (David) Farley; two step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Tom) Stearns, and Kirsten Farley, one step great-grandchild, Caleb; one sister, Joyce (Dale) Bell; one niece, Debbi Dale (Scotty) Ford; one nephew Scott (Erica) Dale; one great nephew, Scotty Joe Ford; one great niece, Sabrina Woolsey; two aunts, Violet Brimm and Nina Merriman; her beloved dog, Scooter; other relatives and many friends. During her career, Joan was a cosmetology instructor and director at Shawnee Community College, Real Estate Salesman, and Illinois Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. She was co-owner of CREA Appraisals in Jonesboro before retiring and moving to Cape Girardeau in 1999. Joan also owned and operated Hair Graphics in Vienna and Jonesboro, Illinois. Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Mulkey will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Robert Goins officiating. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 11:30 a.m. in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will be in the Cypress Masonic Cemetery.
