Joan Mixen

Joan Mixen, age 67 of rural Anna, died at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at her home. She was born April 1, 1950 in Anna, daughter of Otis and Marjorie (Camden) Dirden. She married Bobby Mixen on February 4, 1966 in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1996. Joan is survived by her daughter, Carla (Mike) Cremeens of Anna; son, Eddie (Mary) Mixen of Anna; three grandchildren, Brayden Cremeens, Austin Mixen and Ryan Mixen; one brother, Jim Dirden of Dongola; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Steven Dirden and one sister, Cynthia Dirden.Joan was an animal lover, especially her dog Tigger and cat Peppers. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, loved keeping up with AJ football, an avid Cubs baseball fan and taking a chance on her scratch off tickets. Joan worked at JoAn Laundry, AJ One Stop and Food World. She will be remembered for her love of decorating cakes. Funeral services for Joan Mixen will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home of Anna with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will be in the McGinnis Cemetery in Anna. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
