Joan Bartruff

Mrs. Joan Bartruff, age 81 of Anna, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at her home in Anna. She was born January 26, 1932 in Jonesboro, the daughter of Clarence and Virgie Bass Tweedy. She married Harold Bartruff on February 17, 1951 in Jonesboro; he preceded her in death on September 15, 1991. Joan is survived by her two sons, Terry (Brenda) Bartruff of Anna, Bryan (Kim) Bartruff of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Ashlee Bartruff and fiancé Josh Stegle, Kyle (Keelie) Bartruff, and Paige Bartruff; two brothers, Clarence "Bub" (Ruby) Tweedy of Goreville, Mike (Bonnie) Tweedy of Anna; two sisters, Janice "Mickey" Lewellyn of Anna, Carol Gordon of Virginia Beach, VA; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; one brother, Richard "Dick" Tweedy; two sisters, Christine Bost and Bernadine Sadler. Joan was a member of the United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, the Red Hat Society, the Anna V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Lions Club and the Eastern Star. She worked many years in the Activity Department at Choate Mental Health and Development Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Bartruff will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Bob Fear officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
