Jesse B. Hickam, age 96, of Anna, IL passed away on November 15th, 2021 at the Illinois Veteran's Home of Anna. He was born as the son of George and Meda McKinney-Hickam on May 1st, 1925 in Alto Pass, IL. Jesse married the love of his life, Sarah Cooper, on February 20th, 1950 in Piggott, AR. He later married Carolyn Rogers. He is survived by one son, Roger Hickam (wife Shelly) of Somerville, TN; one daughter, Belinda Hickam Smith of Marion, IL; step-daughter, Becky Livesay-Ralls (husband Darrell); seven grandchildren, Marshall Girtman (wife Jody), Brandi Richardson (husband Chris), Zachary Stout, Miranda Brock (husband Justin), Jacob Hickam, Misti DeVillas (husband Ted), and step-granddaughter Magen Livesay; thirteen great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Norman Hickam; one sister, Gladys Smithy; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Sarah and Carolyn; daughter and son in law, Joyce and Jim Stout; four brothers, Aubrey, Cecil, Bryan, and Glen Hickam; two sisters, Juanita Gaddis and Mabel Minton. Jesse proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Carroll P. Foster V.F.W Post #3455 in Anna and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Jesse enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Services will be held at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, IL on November 18th, 2021. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm with Rev. Dr. David Fischler officiating. Interment will follow at the Alto Pass Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Navy Funeral Honors Team. A meal will be served following the services at the Main Street Center in Anna, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Illinois Veteran's Home of Anna, IL. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
