Jean Katherine Halbin

Mrs. Jean Katherine Halbin, age 89 of Anna, died at 7:35 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Union County Nursing Home in Anna. She was born on January 15, 1922 in Anna, the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Norris) Vaughn. Jean married Robert Halbin on December 1, 1950 in Carbondale. Jean is survived by one daughter, Gloria (Lans) Verduin of Oro Valley, AZ; one step-son, Richard Halbin of Bluford; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Vaughn of Makanda, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Halbin and her parents. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Jean Katherine Halbin will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Anna Cemetery with Bill Littrell officiating. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
