Janice Marie Marvel Smith Franks

Janice Marie Marvel- Franks, 68, of Vanduser, MO died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 close to family in Paducah, Kentucky.She was born July 12, 1952 in Crowder, MO to Alma Gilliam and James Everett Marvel. She and Randy Gene Smith SR were married July 26, 1968 in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death February 9,1999. She remarried James Alan Franks of Caldwell, Texas on June 15, 2008. She enjoyed playing karaoke music and dominoes, being with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had the ability to make everyone around her feel very loved and special. Survivors include her Husband James Alan Franks of Caldwell Texas, sons Randy (Robin) Smith and Rob (Tammy) Smith, daughters Angela Umfleet (Justin), Brandy (Brian) Letterman, and Sam Franks. She was also survived by her Sister Joyce Ragsdale, brother Kenny Gilliam, and 15 Grandchildren & 15 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Everett Marvel & Alma Gilliam and brother James Marvel. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Jonesboro Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow. Everyone attending is asked to go directly to the cemetery. Face coverings will be required and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
