Janice E. Dale

Ms. Janice E. Dale, age 75 of Cobden, died at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Jonesboro Rehab and Care Center in Jonesboro. She was born July 13, 1935 in Balcom, the daughter of Harlan H. and Geneva G. Miller Dale. Janice is survived by two sisters, Carolyn (Robert) Handshy of Mattoon, Glenda (Jess) Hankins of Queen City, MO; one sister in law, Chris Dale of Cobden; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Don Dale; and one sister, Doris Gibbs.Janice was a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro. She started officiating in 1954, and began her teaching and coaching career in 1961. She retired from teaching and coaching in 1993 and continued officiating until 1995. Janice was called out of retirement in 2000, she began coaching again and continued for a number of years. Funeral services for Ms. Janice E. Dale will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Daryl Verble officiating. Interment will be in the Big Creek Cemetery near Anna. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Carmi Baptist Children's Home.
