Janet Rae Ragan

Janet Rae Ragan, age 80 of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Saturday, January 3, 2026. She was born May 13, 1945 in Anna, the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Shephard) Pretzsch. She married Robert Logan Ragan on October 11, 1962 in Anna.

Janet is survived by her husband, Bob Ragan; children, Marla (Todd) Williams, Tyler Ragan, Chris Ragan, and Margaret (Pat) Hite; grandchildren, Maddy (Clint) Walker, Chloe (Preston) Fore, JR Hileman, Justice Hite; great-grandchildren, John Brooks Walker, Addisyn Rae Fore, and her little brother on the way; son-in-law, Joe Hileman; sister, Nancy (Knute) Shultz; cousin, Judy (John) Kowaldzyk; nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carla Hileman; sister, Sharon Leslie, and brother, Jerry Landrum.

Janet worked at Union County Hospital for 30 years in housekeeping until her retirement in 2003. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. She enjoyed watching sports of all kinds on T.V., especially Chicago Cubs baseball and Chicago Bulls basketball. Janet’s love of her family and friends kept her busy with daily phone calls and check-ins, keeping up to date with everything going on. Janet especially looked forward to hair day with Cathy and visiting with everyone in the shop.

Funeral services for Janet Rae Ragan will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Mark Kirk and Todd Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Casper Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
