Janet Pauline Jackson

Janet P. Jackson, age 57, passed away at 9:07 am Friday, August 1, 2014 in her home in Cobden. Jan was born in Danville, Illinois on June 6, 1957 to Gwynne and Joan Jackson. Jan is survived by her daughter, Sara R. Jackson-Grubb, age twenty, and her son, Ian J. Jackson-Grubb, age fourteen. She is also survived by the "love of her life" grandson, Finnley Jackson Musick, age 1, and Sara's life partner, Nicolas Musick. Other survivors include four siblings and dear nieces and nephews. Jan grew up in the Catholic Church and attended St. Joseph's in Cobden and also the Church of Christ in Carbondale. She was always a woman of a great faith and had a wonderful relationship with God. Jan was a multi-talented woman who could do anything she set her mind to do. From roofing to nursing, she was always very hands on. She was also a very accomplished horsewoman and animal lover. Jan was a wonderful mother, grandmother and a great person who was very involved in her family and community. There will be a small memorial service at her home in Cobden at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Janet P. Jackson Memorial Fund at the Anna-Jonesboro National Bank in Anna, Illinois. The proceeds will go to children for expenses incurred.
