Janene Spicer

Janene Spicer, age 73 of Grand Tower, died Monday, August 3, 2020 at her home. She was born October 11, 1946 in Marion, the daughter of Bill and Georgia (Boswell) Hastings. She married George Spicer Sr. on May 6, 1963 in Marion. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2005. Janene is survived by her children, George Robert "Bobby" Spicer Jr. of Creal Springs, Mary Ann Smith of Wolf Lake, and Kathy Chapman of Wolf Lake; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Hastings of Marion; niece, Frances Cavness of Grand Tower. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Spicer Sr.; son, Jeffery Allen Spicer; brother, Loren Ray Hastings. Janene loved shopping and fishing. Most of all she loved visiting with her family. She attended Arnold View Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Brother Ivan Ryan officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the service our at 1:00pm on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Everyone attending will be required to wear facial coverings and observe social distancing. Maximum occupancy of the funeral home will be limited to 50 individuals at one time.
