Jane "Janie" Burnett Wargo crossed over into eternity on January 17, 2024. She was sweetness itself and the kindest, most loving, generous-hearted, giving, loyal, and courageous person anyone could ever know.
Janie was born on December 28, 1978, to Donald and Carol Burnett of Anna, IL. She was the baby of the family, and her sweet nature and kind disposition made it easy for everyone to love her. Janie would even cry when her sisters got in trouble, which they often did. She was happiest when helping others. Even as a little girl, she loved babies and children and regularly volunteered to babysit or help in the church nursery. She grew up attending the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Anna where she participated in Bible study.
Janie loved art and architecture. After graduating high school, she took classes for historic preservation at Belmont Technical College in St. Clairsville, OH, and learned skills like welding and excavation. When she lived in Chicago, she regularly visited the Art Institute and loved wandering through the exhibits, particularly the stained-glass windows designed by Marc Chagall.
An avid music lover her whole life, Janie sang and played keyboard in several bands and worked hard for many years coordinating the longstanding Cornerstone Music Festival. Many will remember seeing her flying around the grounds at Cornerstone in her golf cart, escorting musicians, hauling gear, and doing anything and everything that needed to be done. She later worked as a bright, dependable, and capable manager for Microsoft in Redmond, WA. But
beyond any accomplishment, Janie will be remembered most for her loving heart and sweet nature.
Janie's greatest joy in life was being a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Finley Maven.
Janie loved the people in her life with her whole heart, and she loved them well. She leaves behind a legacy of sweetness to her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol, and is survived by her father, Don, sister Andrea, sister Laura, brother Chris, nephew Jack Samuel, daughter Finley Maven, extended family, and many friends.
