James Wiggs Sr.

James Wiggs Sr, age 81 of Odin, died Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Odin Health and Rehab. He was born May 31, 1940 in Jonesboro, the son of Vertus and Margaret (Foher) Wiggs. He married Alice Miller on May 30, 1964 in Harrington, KS. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2018. James served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a railroad engineer for over 41 years. James was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro. He was a dedicated father and grandfather. He had a love for all animals and birds. He loved his wife dearly and looked forward to reuniting with her in Heaven. James is survived by his son, James Jr. (Gail) Wiggs of Dix; grandchildren, Joshua, Emilee and Jacob Wiggs, Dean and Matt Renaud and Lynette Glover; great grandchildren, Judah and Keziah Wiggs; sisters, Shirley Reitz of Flagstaff, AZ and Linda Van Arsdale of Indiana; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Alice Wiggs. Graveside Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 at Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Military Funeral honors will be performed by Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Memorial Contributions can be made to Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
