James A Smith

James A. Smith, Age 72 of Jonesboro died at 7:25 AM Saturday May 18, 2013 at his home. James was born November 21, 1940 in Carterville, the son of Glenn and Margaret Tottleben Smith. He was united in marriage to Georgeann Hasse December 16, 1972 in Portage, Indiana. James worked for 31 years for Bethlehem Steel. After retirement he made his home in Jonesboro and+ enjoyed many hobbies which included woodworking, locksmith, and traveling. James loved spending time with his grandchildren and also had a love for animals. He is survived by his loving wife Georgeann of Jonesboro, one Daughter Dawn (Keith) Brutout of Portage, IN, three Step-daughters Becky Castor of Portage, In, Sherry (Bill) Stanley of Westville, IN, Pam (Victor) Sayers of Crown Point, IN, eleven Grandchildren, seven Great- Grandchildren, three Nieces and one Nephew, Close friends Maxine Stone and Mike (Anita) Stone and his dog Bessie. James was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Sister Cathryn Capogreco, and one Son-in-law Ken Castor. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday May 25, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Lockard Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. JackRichardson officiating..
