Mr. James Irvin Shipley, age 80 of Jonesboro, died at 1:35 am, Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at his daughter's home in Anna. James was born on August 24, 1933 in Indiana, the son of Elonzo Irvin and Lucille (Tidd) Shipley. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. James is survived by four sons, Brian Shipley, John (Shavonna) Shipley, Jimmy (Sherry) Shipley all of Jonesboro and Kenny Shipley of Anna; four daughters, Lisa McCain of Cobden, Donna (Caleb) Schrader of Wolf Lake, Kim Brock of Jonesboro and Sandy (Larry) McWhorter of Anna; two brothers, Donald (Connie) Shipley and Robert Shipley both of Anna; two sisters, Barbara (Lee) Knowles of Marion and Alice Frick of Jonesboro; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by one son; two brothers and his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with the Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Camp Ground Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro on Wednesday September 5, 2013 from 5 until 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
