James Harold Liljegren

James Harold Liljegren, age 88 of Dongola, died Friday, October 4, 2019 in his home. He was born October 5, 1930 in Chicago, the son of Harold and Loretta (Sterious) Liljegren. He married Angie V. Nawroth in 1981 in Dongola. James is survived by his daughters Wendy Liljegren-Placek of Chicago and Robin Kay Zitko of Gunbarrel City, Texas; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Angie V. Liljegren. James proudly served his country in The United States Navy. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Mound City National Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Local Area Veterans and the Navy Funeral Honor Detail.
