James W. "Jim" Pind

Jim Pind, age 81 of Jonesboro, died Monday, October 29, 2018 in Integrity Healthcare in Anna with his loving family by his side. He was born December 30, 1936 in Cape Girardeau, MO, the son of James Calvin and Lottie (Lynn) Pind. He married Monica Smith on March 10, 1956 in Anna. She preceded him in death thirteen years to the day, on October 29, 2005. Jim is survived by his two sons, Kenny (Laura) Pind of Cobden, Jimmy (Jean) Pind of Anna; daughter in law, Bernice Pind (friend Jim Moreland) of Anna; grandchildren, Curtis (Sarah) Moore, Terry (Gyl) Moore, Joni Pind, Jessica (Lance) Merchant, Kandi Reed, Brad (Barbie) Pind, Calvin (Nancy) Pind; sixteen great-grandchildren that he loved dearly; three sisters, Cuba Payne, Mildred Fox, and Barbara Barlow; four brothers, Paul (Marilyn) Pender, Fred (Maxine) Pender, Don (Sarah) Pind, and Clarence (Becky) Pind; one sister in law, Pam Pind; nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Monica Pind; son, Ronnie Pind; brothers and sisters in law, Carl (Dorothy) Pind, John Pender, Gilbert (LouElla) Pender, and Mike Pind; granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Pind; great-grandsons, Dalton Kissiar, Bentley Moore and Brendan "Cory" Moore; brothers in law, Bob Bracken, James Fox, Corky Barlow and Horsley siblings. Jim was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for many years. He worked as an industrial welder until his retirement. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
