James "Robin" Hoyle

James "Robin" Hoyle, age 75 of Anna, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at his home. He was born on December 18, 1948 in Anna, the son of Robert E. and Leota D. (Hartline) Hoyle. He married Susan Koesterer Keys on December 10, 2016 in Mascoutah, IL. He and Susan shared a true love story, dating for three years while in college before losing touch. 50 years later, they found one another and picked up right where they left off.

Robin is survived by his wife, Susan Hoyle of Anna; Susan's sons, Matthew (Beth) Keys and Kevin Keys all of Columbus, OH; grandson, Morrison Keys of Columbus, OH; aunt, Lou Ann Hartline of Cobden; nephews, Steve (Lisa) Hartline of Anna and Danny (Charlotte) Hartline of Cobden; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cynthia Hoyle and two nephews, Robert Hoyle and David Hartline.

Robin attended Cobden High School, graduating in 1967. He was a member of the Appleknockers basketball team. He was a talented and accomplished musician, playing many instruments such as guitar, harmonica and dulcimer just to name a few. He loved bluegrass music and the History Channel. Robin will be remembered by many as custodian and bus driver for Anna Junior High and elementary schools. He loved a good joke and was an amazing storyteller.

Graveside funeral services for Robin Hoyle will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Anna Cemetery with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. Interment will follow. Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.
