Jack Allen Musgrave, age 88 of Cobden, died at 11:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Marion VA Medical Center C.L.C. He was born January 13, 1930 in Gary, IN the son of Louis Rayford and Marie Augusta (James) Musgrave. He is survived by his son, Jack (Deborah) Musgrave of Cobden; daughter, Melanie (Phil) Clemence of Summerfield, FL; two grandchildren, Daniel Musgrave and Jennifer Schildknecht; great grandchildren, Lily Musgrave, Allison Colin, Jarod Schildknecht and Kevin Ervin. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Musgrave, Louis Musgrave; one sister, Helen Sands. Jack was of the Jehovah Witness faith. He served his country with pride in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the steel industry in Gary, IN and after moving back to southern Illinois, he farmed and raised livestock. Jack loved to dig ginseng and was an avid golfer. At the age of 71 playing golf with his son at Midland Hills Country Club he made a hole in one. According to his wishes he will be cremated and no services will be held.
