Jack L. Bridgeman

Jack L. Bridgeman, age 88 of Anna, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Anna Veterans Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 5, 1930 in Cobden, the son of Lee Orville and Florence (Aldridge) Bridgeman. He married Jennie Barnhart on July 23, 1955 in Alto Pass and together they were blessed with two sons. Jack is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Jennie Bridgeman of Anna; sister, JoAnne Ellis of Hammond, IN; brothers in law, William G. (Sarah) Barnhart of Marshall, Barney Barnhart of Anna and Jack Etherton of Anna; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons; Thomas Lynn and James Walter Bridgeman; brother, George Bridgeman; father in law, Bill Barnhart; mother in law, Ruth Barnhart; sisters in law, Patsy Etherton and Joyce Barnhart. Jack was retired from the railroad after working thirty years of service with the CSX Corporation. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a faithful member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church and held several positions there. Jack will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in the Anna Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Harner & Pastor Darrel Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 in the Anna Heights Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Home Activity Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church and the funeral home.
