Ivis W. Wright

Mr. Ivis W. Wright, age 79 of Anna, died at 11:35 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home. He was born June 4, 1937 in Johnson County, the son of Douglas and Edith (Blades) Wright. He married Mary Lou Craft on May 6, 1995 in Anna. Ivis is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou Wright of Anna; four step-daughters, Ramona (Chuck) Rice of Benton, Brenda (Whitey) Turner of Ellsinore, Glenda (Tim) Glasco of Anna, Mary Ann Linze (Jody Clover) of De Soto three daughters, Dianna (Stu) Miller of Grand Chain, Deanna Wright Gurley and Pam Lassar both of Karnak; one son, J. Marvin (Teresa) Wright of Hazelwood, MO; step-son, Mark Ross of Carterville;; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; twelve step-grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and one sister. Ivis was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro for many years. He was a much loved husband, father, and "Grandpa Ivis". Ivis never met a stranger, he was a forever buddy to his close friends. He worked as a mechanic most of his life and served as a police officer. He loved working in his garage, and yard and keeping Mary Lou close by. Most of all he enjoyed watching his grandchildren and granddaughters rodeo. Funeral services for Mr. Ivis W. Wright will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Ken Wilson officiating. Friends may call after 12:00 noon and until the service hour at 2:00 on Thursday, April 6, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
