Isaac Enrique Guijon

Isaac Enrique Guijon, aged 7.5 hours, passed away on Thursday, August 22nd at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born to parents Gilberto Guijon Gonzalez and Stephanie Renee (Jones) Guijon.

Isaac is survived by parents, Gil and Stephanie Guijon of Anna; paternal grandparents, Abraham Guijon Leon and Modesta Gonzalez of Mexico; maternal grandparents, Tom and Lisa Jones of Cobden; maternal great grandmothers, Norma J. Marks and Penny F. Wilson; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandparents, Alejandro Guijon Cisneros and Providencia Leon, Adelaido Gonzalez Villalpando and Maria Trinidad Calderon, maternal great grandfathers, Dewey T. Marks and Jimmy F. Wilson, maternal second cousin, Corey Wilson, and maternal uncle, Bradley Jones.

Isaac had been wished for by his parents and loved since before they were pregnant. At 22 weeks gestation, he was diagnosed with Bilateral Multicystic Dysplastic Kidney (MCDK) and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Because of the Bilateral MCDK, his lungs did not develop fully which led to his death just  hours after he was born. Isaac was a beautiful boy who looked just like his father. He was very sweet with a fighting spirit. He loved his parents just as much as they loved and still love him. He spent a lot of time in their arms before peacefully passing away. They will never forget the special moments and joy of having a son but realize he is no longer suffering and is now in the arms of Jesus.

Funeral services for Isaac Enrique Guijon will be at 1:00pm Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Cobden with Rev. Dr. Ed Falgout and Pastor Matt Hartline officiating. Interment will follow at the Alto Pass Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00am until the service time at 1:00pm Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the church. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden is in charge of arrangements.
