Irene "Tootie" (Reischauer) Rendleman

Irene E. "Tootie" Rendleman, age 104 of Liberty Village Estates in Carbondale, formerly of Anna and Wolf Lake, passed away at 2:30 am Saturday, August 30, 2025 at her home. She was born on June 30, 1921 in Jonesboro, the daughter of Louis O. and Alvina H. (Rudert) Reischauer. She married William Paul "Bud" Rendleman on April 2, 1942 in Jackson, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2011.

Tootie is survived by two sons, William Paul "Bill" (Brenda) Rendleman, Jr. of Mt. Vernon and Darryl L. (Brenda) Rendleman of Anna; five grandchildren, Troy Rendleman of Savoy, Dr. Todd Rendleman of Seattle, WA, Courtney (Jeff) Ray of Anna, Mandy (Daniel) Page of Anna and Tara Haas of Anna; great-grandchildren, Megan (Dylan) Hall of Anna, Sydney Ray of Mt. Vernon, Avery Page (Aaron Lence) of Jonesboro, Drew Page of Anna and Trey and Halle Haas of Anna; great-great grandchildren, Mallory and Emery Hall of Anna and the expected arrival in October of Saylor Page Lence; nieces and nephew, Pat Damron, Brigetta Guinn, Bonnie Lee Sullivan, Janet Boyd and Mike Jackson; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great-grandson, Maddox Gabriel Haas, sister, Georgia Damron and nephew, Mike Damron.

Tootie was a long-time, faithful member of the Wolf Lake Community Church. She retired from the Anna Mental Health and Development Center, now Choate Mental Health in Anna. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Illini Basketball.

Funeral services for Irene "Tootie" Rendleman will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Troy Rendleman and Jack Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wolf Lake Community Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.  Envelopes are available at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
