Irene Patricia Morris Phillips

Mrs. Irene Patricia Morris Phillips, age 85 , of Goreville, died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, December, 30, 2015 in Helia Healthcare in Energy. She was born June 5, 1930 in Wallasey Cheshire, England to John Patrick Morris and Lucy (Heywood) Morris. Irene is survived by her sisters, Barbara Dean and Brenda DeFrancesco. She is also survived by her children, Kevin Phillips of Virginia; G. Phillips; Francine and Dean Snider of Illinois; Sean and Shannon Phillips of Pennsylvania; Brenda Phillips of Florida; Moira and Jeff Sims of Illinois.Grandchildren, , Jenny and Elizabeth Phillips,Tara and Aodhan Durham, Laurin Koneski, Erin Phillips, Tucker and Sterling Rhodes, Katherine Witener, Ryan Snider and Audra Owens. Irene was fortunate to have many great grandchildren. Irene had many, many close personal friends. Irene was an advocate for organ and tissue donation. She donated her body to the SIU School of Medicine in an effort to promote the education of our doctors and the furtherance of science. Irene was also a contributor to St. Jude and the Feed the Children programs.
