Idell Tolson

Mrs. Idell Tolson, age 84 of Cobden, died at 6:56 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born February 9, 1928 in Cairo, the daughter of Opal and Edna Brown Wilson. She married Billy Joe Tolson on December 28, 1951 in Cairo. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1999. Idell is survived by her three children, Byron Kent (Kathy) Tolson of Cobden, Michelle Renee (Louis) Oldani of Mulkeytown, and Karen Jo (Kenneth) Smith of Carbondale; eight grandchildren, Lee, Jason, and Megon Lyell, Josh (Megan) Tolson, Britany (T.J.) Newman, Seth Tolson (Cayla Lingle), Jeremy and Nathan Smith; three great grandchildren, Emylee and Elyssa Lyell and Maren Tolson; one sister, Dalana Watson of Carbondale; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Joe Tolson; two brothers, Bobby and Leroy Wilson; and one sister, Virginia Hanle. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Idell Tolson will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin with Rev. G. Robert Heimgartner officiating. Interment will be in the Herrin City Cemetery. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
