Hollis Young

Hollis Young, age 78 of Cobden, died Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Union County Hospital. He was born May 31, 1942 in Rosiclare, the son of William and Opal (Dalton) Young. Hollis is survived by his friends, Julie and Steve Draper, Butch and Shirly Beltz, Traci and Matt Chamness, and many other friends from Village Inn and J.R. Center. He was preceded in death by his parents. Hollis worked many years at Draper Produce in Cobden. Hollis enjoyed working at carnivals and he cherished a picture of him standing by a tilt-a-whirl. He always looked forward to the Annual Peach Festival in Cobden, and helped set up the rides. Hollis lived in Cobden for forty plus years. He was a Chicago Cubs fan. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Cobden Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow. Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Cobden Cemetery. All those attending will be required to wear a face covering and observe social distancing guidelines.
