Hilda Jean Boyd

Hilda Jean Boyd, age 88 of Anna, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Deaconess Union County Hospital in Anna. Born on July 15, 1936 in Pomona, she lived a long and meaningful life rooted in love for her family. She married James Samuel Boyd on June 24, 1952 in Paragould, AR. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2004.

Hilda dedicated most of her life to raising three children and later found immense happiness in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was a place of warmth and laughter, where generations gathered and memories were made. She was a comfort to many and a joy to all who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Terri Boyd of Anna; son, David Boyd of Carbondale; grandchildren, Angela (Chance) Cottone of Marion and Chelsie Boyd of Anna; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jamie, Caleb, Madison, and Mallory; great-great grandchildren, Kaden, Wyatt, Cyrus, Kyson, and Kreed; sister, Janetta Burks of Metamora, and aunt, Ilene Nipper of Granite City.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lyerla and Laverne Hartline; beloved husband, James Boyd; son, James L. "Jimmy" Boyd, and her sisters, Loretta Miller, Norma Robinett, and Virginia Jenkerson. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her kindness and unwavering devotion to family. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Casper Cemetery in Anna. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the service time of 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
