A life well lived is measured not by years alone, but by the love shared, the family raised, and the memories left behind. Henrietta lived a life full of love, strength, faith, and devotion to her family.

Henrietta was born on May 21, 1931, in Joppa, Illinois, to Charles H. Rainbolt and Flora Harrington Rainbolt. In 1969, she married Ed Meisenheimer in Kentucky, remaining by his side until his passing in 1995.

She was a longtime member of the Methodist Church in Anna, Illinois, where her faith remained an important part of her life.

Henrietta dedicated 23 years of service to the Cobden Village Shelter Care Home in Cobden, where she worked with compassion and kindness before retiring. She was known for her caring heart, her strength, and the way she made people feel welcome and loved.

Henrietta loved bringing people together. Whether it was sharing stories, cooking for the people she loved, playing Skip-Bo, or simply sitting and talking with friends and family, she had a way of making everyone feel at home. Her strength, humor, and caring heart touched generations of people who will continue carrying her love forward.

She leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her son, Mike Rainbolt; her brother, Ron (Marge) Smith; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, her church family, many dear friends, and her beloved cat, Precious, who was by her side for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Meisenheimer; her daughter, Karen Dover; her sons, Paul Smith, Silas Smith, and Tommy Smith; granddaughter Amy Hickam; and grandson Deryl Wright.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to her caregiver and adopted granddaughter, Felicia Chrisp, for the love, care, and devotion she showed Grandma over the years. We would also like to thank Karen Alsip, who has been a special part of our family for many years, for her love, support, and thoughtfulness. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the other family and friends who were there for her with love and support.

We are deeply grateful for the friendships, kindness, compassion, and exceptional care shown by the staff at Voyage Senior Living during the many years Grandma called it home. We would also like to thank her hospice team. Cheryl, her nurse, was so wonderful and did so much for Grandma and us in her final days.

Henrietta’s legacy lives on through the generations of family she loved so deeply. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will never be forgotten.
