Helen Marlene Knight

Helen Marlene Knight, age 82 of Anna, died at 1:45 pm, Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Helen was born on March 3, 1929 in Union Town, KY, the daughter of Roscoe and Emily Powell Eddings. Helen was married to Raymond James Knight on August 10, 1944 in St. Louis, Mo. She lived most of her life in northern Illinois and then moved to Phoenix, AZ followed by her moving to Anna in 2001. Helen was a homemaker and also worked in retail sales throughout her life. During WWII she worked in the ship yards in Seattle Washington as an underwater welder helping with the war effort. Survivors include three sons, Michael, David, and Dale all of Anna; one daughter, Dawn Roach of Anna; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond James Knight; two children, Charles Raymond and Marilyn Sue; two grandsons, Thomas Robert Knight and Mark Rose. Helen will be greatly missed by her family and friends. There will be private family services conducted by Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
