Helen (Bennett) Holderfield

Helen Holderfield, age 84 of Anna, died Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born on March 19, 1939 in Cobden, the daughter of Claude Everett and Anna Laura (Foster) Bennett. She married Robert L. Holderfield on August 10, 1956 in Cobden. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1996.

Helen is survived by her children, Matt (Ellen) Holderfield, Lori (Joe) Godwin, James (Susan) Holderfield, Anthony "Tony" (Alice) Holderfield and Melissa (Joe) Hicks; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Sherry Sloan; sisters-in-law, Della (Ed) Petty, Earlene (Ray) Highfield and Charlene Holderfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and four brothers, Donald, Henry, Alan and Gary Bennett.

Helen was a member of the Alto Pass Pentecostal Church. She had strong faith in God. For many years, she played the organ at church and loved to sing. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and cooking. She worked for many years as a certified nurse assistant at local nursing homes as well as home health. She most enjoyed raising and caring for her family.

Graveside funeral services for Helen Holderfield will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Alto Pass Cemetery with Ray Highfield officiating. Interment will follow. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
