Helen Edna Garner

Mrs. Helen Edna Garner, age 94 of Anna, died at 4:27 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2014 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born July 7, 1919 in Union County, the daughter of William Chester and Lela Helen Carter Hatley. She married Edward Garner on October 9, 1937 in Cobden. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1994. Helen is survived by her children, Bill (Ursala) Garner of Lady Lake, FL, Ron (Janice) Garner of Anna, Mike (Beverly) Garner of Lady Lake, FL, Bruce (Diane) Garner of Kimberling City, MO, John (Denise) Garner of Anna; grandchildren, Billy Garner, Bobby (Lisa) Garner, Rhonda (Scott) Abernathy, Kim (Jeff) Cates, Jeff (Maria) Garner, Becky Garner, Shayla Voets, Christine Hoy, Steve Hoy, John (Jennifer) Garner, Chase and Tristin Garner; great grandchildren, Sara Garner, Ashton and Maddie Garner, Hillary (Dusty) Miller, Hailley Abernathy, Samantha Cates, Addison, Aden and Asjia Garner, Jordan and Kobe Harris, Ryan, Ashley and Casandra Garner, Madison and Sara Garner; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Garner; two sisters, Margaret Sims and Mary Estalee Zintz; two brothers, Carl and Raymond Hatley. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Methodist Church in Cobden. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a 50 year member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 Auxiliary. Helen worked many, many years for Bean Jewelry in Anna. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 in the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will be in the Casper Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 in the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
