Helen Copeland

Helen Elizabeth Copeland, age 94 of Anna, died Friday, September 6, 2019 in her home. She was born April 2,1925 in Forsyth, Missouri, the daughter of Claud and Velma (Kenney) Edwards. She married Cleatis Butterfield on September 19, 1943 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He preceded her in death in January of 1980. She then married Syril "Sandy" Copeland in 1997 in Ware. He preceded her in death in 2000. Helen is survived by her children, Bill (Sharon) Butterfield of Topeka, Kansas and Bob (Patsy) Butterfield of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren, Tim Butterfield-Kocher, Robert Butterfield, Deidra Stanley, and Andrea Barnes; great-grandchildren, Sophia Butterfield-Kocher, Emma Butterfield-Kocher, Zoe Broz, Aiden Butterfield-Kocher, Chloe Butterfield-Kocher, and Kali Ann Cruz; brother, Richard (Norma) Edwards of Olmstead. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleatis Butterfield; husband, Syril "Sandy" Copeland; son, Barry Butterfield; sisters, Opal Rowley and Betty Bierbaum; brother, Frank Edwards; and stepsister, Irene Sauerbrun. Helen attended Harvest Church. She enjoyed working as a seamstress. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in the Anna City Cemetery with Tony Foeller officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Anna City Cemetery. Everyone is asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial may be made to Harvest Church.
