Mrs. Helen F. Bittle, age 95 of Anna, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013 at her home in Anna. She was born February 15, 1918 in Alto Pass, the daughter of Finis and Gertrude "Gerti" Miller Friese. She marked Leonard C. Bittle in November of 1934 in Murphysboro. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2001. Helen is survived by her son, Larry Bittle of Marion; daughter, Melody Ann (Bill) Gamber of Anna; three grandchildren, Shelley Bittle of St. Louis, MO, Barry (Missy) Bittle of Marion, Ashley Gamber (Chad) Buchanan of Anna; four great grandchildren, Trace and Jerzy Bittle, Chloe Gamber and Ian Buchanan; one sister, Maxine Jones of Alto Pass; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard C. Bittle; infant daughter, Phyllis Darlene Bittle; one brother, Ray Friese; and one sister, Mary Friese. Helen was a member of the Landmark Pentecostal Church in Anna for many years. Helen served in various capacities in the church, as Sunday school teacher, young people's leader and was a licensed minister for over 50 years of United Pentecostal Church International. Funeral services for Mrs. Helen F. Bittle will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Chaplain Greg Bittle and Pastor Dennis Brandon officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. and until the service hour at 2 on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
