Helen I Bass

Mrs. Helen I. Bass, age 88 of Wilmington, formerly of Anna, died at 3:36 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at her daughter's home in Schaumburg, IL. She was born December 29, 1925 in Anna, the daughter of Dallas and Nova Pitts West. She married Robert E. "Bob" Bass on July 7, 1948 in Piggott, AR. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1990. Helen is survived by her two daughters, Sherye Shreffler of Kankakee, Bobbie (Frank) Afable of Schaumburg; three grandchildren, Brooke (Bob) Schmidt, Brittany Shreffler, Frank Robert Afable; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Bass; son in law, Robert Shreffler; infant sister, Mary Lucille West; and one brother, Joseph Cling "J.C." West. Helen was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Goose Lake, IL. for many years. She was very active in the church, she was the church secretary and taught Sunday School. Helen was the last charter member of the Faith Baptist Church. Helen was an avid Facebook user, with many of her friends looking forward to her nightly posts. Funeral services for Mrs. Helen I. Bass will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Todd Hawk officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014 and after 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
