Mrs. Hazel Morgan Proveaux, age 98 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, died at 12:37 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016 in the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born November 28, 1917 in Ware, the daughter of Charles P. and Lela (Frick) Morgan. She married Aldean A. Proveaux in 1947 in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1974. Hazel is survived by her two nieces, Linda McCloud of Anna and Paula Morgan of Jonesboro; three nephews, Randy Morgan of McClure, Mike Morgan of Jonesboro and Van Allen Morgan of Jonesboro; many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aldean A. Proveaux; two sisters, Delphia Morgan and Edna McCloud; and two brothers, Paul Morgan and Winstead Morgan. Hazel was a member of the Cape Bible Chapel and member of the Eastern Starr. During WWII she worked in an artillery factory in St. Louis. She went on the get her cosmetology certificate and graduated from Southern Illinois University. She later owned and operated Hazel's Cut and Curl in Cape Girardeau for over fifty years. Hazel was a talented seamstress, she enjoyed sewing and making many of her own clothes. Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Morgan Proveaux will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
