Harold Raymond Wheaton Sr.

Mr. Harold Raymond Wheaton Sr., age 70 of Lick Creek, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 surrounded by his family, in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born October 18, 1943 in Anna, the son of Luther Fonzy and Juanita Fern Durham Wheaton. He married Judy Mae Underwood on March 13, 1965 in the Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Judy Wheaton of Lick Creek; children, Missy (Richard) Brimm of Jonesboro, Ted (Marylou) Wheaton of Simpson, Tammy Wheaton (K.W. Carter) of Lick Creek; six grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Brimm, Cody and Damion Wheaton, Bridget and Brandi Duty; one great grandchild, Liam Duty; brothers and sisters, Travis Eugene (Peggy) Wheaton, Sonja Underwood, Rita (Randy) Herren, Pam Wheaton, Kathy (Darrel) Burlison all of Goreville; his faithful dog, Tiny; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Skip Wheaton; and one sister, Denise Wheaton. Harold was a member and trustee of the Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in 1961. Harold was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, and hunting. His passion was spending time with all of his grandchildren; family and friends. He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball and was a sideline official at all the sporting events he attended. Funeral services for Mr. Harold Raymond Wheaton Sr. will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2014 in the Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contribuiotns may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
