Mrs. Golda H. Brown, 87, of Anna, died at 6:15 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Union County Nursing Home in Anna. She was born December 22, 1923 in Goreville, the daughter of William and Edna Grace Howell. Golda is survived by two sons, Michael J. (Roberta) Brown of Fairfield and Patrick D. (Darlene) Brown of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren, Ira, Aaron, Ashley, Alison, Chris, and Brandon Brown, Michael, David and Alecia Mansholt; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William L. "Bill" Brown; two brothers, Carl and Marvin Howell; two sisters, Ruth Choate and Hope South. Golda retired from the Union County Judicial System as a court reporter in 1988. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Ladies Auxiliary of Carroll P. Foster Post # 3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna. Funeral services for Mrs. Golda H. Brown will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorials may be made to Women of the Moose or Ladies' Auxiliary of the VFW Post #3455 in Anna. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
