Glenn Earl Hartsock, age 93 of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at his home. He was born May 23, 1924 in Alto Pass, the son of Daniel and Minnie Hartsock. He married Edith (Stone) Moore on April 21, 2001 in the Emanuel Baptist Church in Cobden. Glenn is survived by his loving wife Edith Hartsock of Jonesboro; Edith's children, John McHughes, Cindy Smith, Polly Quintana, Carol Eslinger all of Jonesboro, and Alma (Jason) Dewitt of Ullin; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Pauline Craig of Peoria; brother, Larry (Audrey) Hartsock of O'Fallon, MO; sister in law, Leana Hartsock of Grayville; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Donald, Dan & Kenneth Hartsock. Glenn served his country with pride during WWII in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1947. While in the Navy he served on the USS Pennsylvania and the USS McConnell as a torpedoman 3rd class. Glenn was a member of the Harvest Church in Anna and served as an usher until his health declined and he couldn't attend. He enjoyed going to church and the fellowship he gained. Glenn enjoyed fishing and spending time with his wife. He was a loving and kind man and will be greatly missed. Funeral services for Glenn Earl Hartsock will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Pastor Tony Foeller officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Navy Funeral Honor Detail. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Angels Cove. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
