Glenda Y. Russell

Glenda Y. Russell, age 83 of Wolf Lake, died Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born October 17, 1937 in Breckenridge, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Vivian (Wagner) Hogness. Glenda is survived by her loving children, Kevin Russell of Murphysboro, Missy Fairbank of Pendleton, OR, Kelly (Staci) Russell of Desoto; three grandchildren, Matthew Fairbank, Joshua Fairbank, Taryn Russell; three great-grandchildren, Hailee, Anson and Jade Fairbank; siblings, Harold Hogness, Curt Hogness, Jackie Jenson and Valroy Hogness; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Roberta Wisnieski, Rodney, Marvin, Clifford, Kathleen, Paulette and Everette Hogness. Glenda was a member of the Faith Assembly of God in Wolf Lake. She was a faithful Christian and loved going to church. She loved baking and cooking, especially chicken and dumplings that she would take to her friends and family to enjoy. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and enjoyed getting together with her family. Glenda honorably served her country in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1959. She worked many years at Dyno Nobel until her retirement in 2002. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Jonesboro Cemetery with Pastor Ron Thorn officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. and until the service hour at 11:00 on Friday, December 11, 2020. Everyone attending will be required to wear face covering and observe social distancing guidelines. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Angel Tree Christmas. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
