Mrs. Glenda LaVerne Cook, age 69 of Cobden, died at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born May 1, 1943 in Saratoga, the daughter of Loren Carlene and Kathryn Mamie Davis Barker. Glenda is survived by her son, Brian (Lisa) Cook of Golconda; two daughters, Kim (Alan) Ferguson of Dongola, and Kila (Dray) Glitner of Brookport; six grandchildren, Katelynn and Garrett Cook, John-Michael Veach, Liam Ferguson, Quaid and Kagney Adams; three sisters, Donna (Joe) Greenwell of Kentucky, Marilyn Alsip and Carmen (Tom) Murrie all of Vienna; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Wade Lee Cook. Glenda was a member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro. She worked at Choate Mental Health and Development Center in food service and later retired from the Vienna Correctional Center in Vienna. Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda LaVerne Cook will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Mark Goins and Rev. Robert Schierbaum officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the funeral hour at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
