Mrs. Ginger Sue Glasco, age 77 of Wolf Lake, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. She was born April 6, 1937 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the daughter of Carr and Wilma (Githens) Ward. She married Garry Glasco on August 22, 1954 in Wolf Lake, they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Ginger is survived by her loving husband, Garry Glasco of Wolf Lake; one daughter, Vicki (Ernie) Escue of Makanda; one son, Kerry (Sandy) Glasco of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Shelly (Tom) Glasco-Pearl of Anna, Mindy (Joe) Keene of Carbondale, Jorden Glasco, currently stationed in Washington, D.C., Jaimerson Escue of Springield, MO, Jada "Jen" Escue of Los Angeles, CA, Scott (Mickellynn) Escue of Cobden and Stephen Escue of Miami, FL; great- grandchildren, Kamryn, Kacey, Princeton, and Maci; one sister, Lillian Chaney of Troy, MO; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Gary; one grandson, Brandon; one brother, Carr "Sonny" Ward Jr.; one brother in law, Louis Chaney. Ginger was a homemaker. In fulfilling her role of a homemaker she upheld many job being a "farmer's wife". She raised her children, cooked many meals for family and farmhands and spent ample time with her family. She was an amazing seamstress who made many Halloween costumes for her grandchildren and many clothes. She loved to play games, make crafts and watch movies; her favorite movies were Disney. Ginger was a devout Christian and a member of the Lockard Chapel Baptist Church in Jonesboro for many years. Funeral services for Mrs. Ginger Sue Glasco will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Jack Richardson officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
