Gerald "Jerry" Casper

Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Casper, age 64 of Jonesboro, died at 7:08 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at his home. He was born September 18, 1952 in Anna, the son of Betty (Shepard) Dunn. Jerry is survived by his six children, Samantha Brent of Canada, Jesse (Amanda) Casper of Idaho, Diana (Kenneth) Cox of Perryville, MO, Sheldon (Jenna) Casper of Florida, Christy (T.J.) Smith of Jonesboro, Adam (Katie) Casper of Ohio; fourteen grandchildren, Brandon & Brett Johnson, Jody, Laura and Natalee Brown, Brinlyn & Maddox Casper, Journey, Elijah, Zeke Casper, Chellesy Brent, Miles & Gabe Casper, Jozie Redman; three great grandchildren, Colton Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Zoey Newberry; brothers, Jeff (Ruth) Dunn of Vienna, Randy Dunn of Anna; sister, Betty Jo Boyd of Carterville; best friend, Janet Casper of Jonesboro; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Dunn and brother, Steve Casper. Jerry enjoyed fishing, history and politics, and mostly spending time with his family. He dearly enjoyed weekly pool league with his daughter and grandsons. Funeral services for Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Casper will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.Interment will be in the Casper Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honor Team of Marion. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the AJ Athletics. Envelopes will be available at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Everyone is invited to attend a dinner following at the Anna Elks Lodge.
