Georgia Maude Sides

Georgia Maude Sides, age 82 of Anna, died at 6:07 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 in Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. She was born September 5, 1935 in Carbondale, the daughter of Clarence H. and Anna Mae (Heininger) Davis. She married George Henry Sides on June 1, 1957. They shared fifty two years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 4, 2009. Maude is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Jim) Walker of Anna; "grandmas boy", Brandon (Heather) Craig and granddaughter, Maelin Walker all of Anna; two great-granddaughters, Kansas and Kaegan Craig; one sister, Anna Rose Davis of Murphysboro; three brothers, Fred (Donna) Davis of Murphysboro, Jim (Faith) Davis of Herrin, and Donald Davis (friend Kerry) of Murphysboro; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Maude was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George H. Sides. Maude was a dedicated member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed coordinating the entertainment for the Young at Heart at the church. Maude loved to sing, sew and work in her flower gardens in her spare time. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-granddaughters, and she loved spending time with them. Maude began her working career with the U.S. Postal service in 1980, and retired as Postmaster in the late 1990's. She was a member of the Mary Martha Club in Makanda, the National Postmaster Association and was the former president of the Makanda Women's Club. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the Anna Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Darryl Williams officiating. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the Anna Heights Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Anna Heights Baptist Church Young at Heart. Envelopes will be available at the church and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
