George Munroe Spurlock, age 94 of Anna died at 9:28 pm Saturday May 11, 2013 at the Cobden Rehab Center in Cobden. George was born August 23, 1918 in Cobden the son of Ben and Minnie Kimbro Spurlock. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Hinkle Pitts October 16, 1998 in Anna. George was a member of the Landmark Pentecostal Church in Anna for many years. He proudly served his county in WWII in the Army Air Corps. George worked for many years as a carpenter and also preached throughout the area. George is survived by his loving wife Dorothy of Anna, two grandchildren Irene (Roy) Marshall of Buncombe, Larry Woods of Murphysboro, two great grandchildren and five Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by one daughter Martha Woods, Five brothers Bill, Dave, Floyd, Paul and an infant brother Earl Lee Spurlock, three sisters Elsie Houghland, Lucille Forehand and Agnes Spurlock. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday May 15, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. William D. Townsend officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 until 11:00 Wednesday. Interment will be in the Casper Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Landmark Pentecostal Church and envelopes will be available at the fune
