Mr. George O. Scivally, age 93 of Anna, died at 8:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at his home. He was born February 20, 1922 in Jonesboro, Illinois, the son of William E. and Chloe VanAmburg Scivally. He married Jesse Lee Johnson on April 9, 1946 in Anna. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2003. George is survived by his two children, Janice (Bill) Bradley of Anna, and Marlena Jane (Frank) Upchurch of Northport, Alabama; five grandchildren, Randy Scott McMahan, Joseph Paul McMahan, Heather Lea Cochran, Terry Upchurch, and Caroline Upchurch; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. George was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Gale A. McMahan; one son, Terry Scivally; sisters, Essie Mae Groner, Fannie Marie Miller, and Fay Sponsler; brothers, William Scivally, Jr. and Don Scivally. George was a graduate of the Anna-Jonesboro class of 1939. He proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II in New Guinea. He worked for over 40 years at Bunny Bread as a dispatcher. He was a member of the Anna First Baptist Church and was as an active Deacon for many years. Funeral services for Mr. George O. Scivally will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Les Sinks officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V. F. W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call after 1:30 and until the service hour at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 in the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Anna First Baptist Church. Memorial envelopes will be available at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
