Geneva Jackson, age 92 of Jonesboro, died Friday, April 19, 2019 at her son's home. She was born July 6, 1926 in Wolf Lake, the daughter of Nathaniel and Myrtle Edith (Pender) King. She married Walter P. Jackson on February 21, 1946 in Jackson, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1990. Geneva is survived by her children, Patsy (Bob) Butterfield of Georgetown, TX, Harry (Tina) Jackson of Jonesboro, Jane Tisdale of Josephine, AL, Walter (Robin) Jackson of Dongola, and Kathy Jackson of Mill Creek; her much loved eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Fred (Jean) King of Charlotte, MI, Mary Elkins of Jonesboro, Richard (Tia) King of Jonesboro, and Laura (Robert) Spiller of Anna; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter P. Jackson; sister, Betty Jean King; brother and sister in law, Roy and Myrtle King; brother in law, Frankie Elkins; and two sons in law, Ben Tisdale and Ivan Milam. Geneva was a Christian woman and attended the Anna United Methodist Church for many years. She dearly loved her family and all her friends. She loved having family over and hosting big meals and quilting in her spare time. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Billy Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Mission Pentecostal Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
