Frank Joseph Tierney was born in Youngstown, Ohio November 24, 1911. He will be buried in Rome City, Indiana, next to his wife, Vera Williams Tierney, who passed in July 1987. Frank and Vera moved to Cobden, Illinois in the early 1970's, Frank worked in Civil Construction throughout the Midwest and from Louisiana to Michigan. His last position was Superintendent of Construction for ET Simonds, and he loved his work. He also enjoyed having coffee with friends and acquaintances on Sundays. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings William, Robert and Elizabeth Millikin Franco. He will be remembered as a wonderful friend and Uncle, that kept himself young at heart and of mind. He was a great source of history for his nieces and nephews; among those are James Millikin, William Tierney, Linda Potee Hatfield, Adele Tierney Reid and Lynn Tierney. We would like to make a special mention for Juanita Ollis Murrie, a longtime friend who also preceded Frank, her niece Darbi Rash and her husband Tom Rash of East Amherst, New York. According to Frank's wishes, he will be cremated. Graveside services will be in the Orange Cemetery in Rome City, IN and will be announced at a later date.
