Mr. Floyd Pender, age 90 of Anna, died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna. He was born May 22, 1920 in Mt. Pleasant. He married Nina A. Davault on April 9, 1945 in Jonesboro. She preceded him in death on July 17, 2010. Floyd is survived by one daughter, Jane (Paul) Bohannon of Anna; one granddaughter, Alisha (Scott) Schlenker of Anna; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Schlenker of Oakland, CA and Brittany Schlenker of Anna; one sister, Margie Baker of Anna; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nina; and one sister, Maxine Toler. Floyd was a member of the Pima Baptist Church in Tucson, AZ. He was the plant manager for the Amoco Fertilizer Plant in Jonesboro for many years. Floyd proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII.Graveside funeral services for Mr. Floyd Pender will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at the McGinnis Cemetery east of Anna with Rev. Joe Hankla officiating. Interment will be in the McGinnis Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #345 of the VFW in Anna and the Military Funeral Honors Team in Marion. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
