Everett "Butch" Mainer, age 73 of McClure, died Sunday, January 13, 2019 in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born June 19, 1945 in Anna, the son of Lloyd H. and Minnie (Cavaness) Mainer. He married Barbara Bader on November 18, 1982 in Rock Springs, IL. Butch is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Mainer of McClure; three sisters, Maudie (Thomas) Kaufman of Pekin, Erma Foster and Verna Mainer both of Bedford, IN; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Oma Mainer, Frieda Mainer and Natalie Boyd; and one brother, Jimmy Lee Mainer. Butch was retired from Shawnee Elementary School where he worked many years as the custodian. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Butch was a life member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna, the American Legion and the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge #111. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Interment will be in the Lindsey Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Masonic rites will be said at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge #111 or Lindsey Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
