Everett "Bud" Hawk, age 86 of Pomona, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in his home. He was born September 2, 1931, in Kinderhook TWP, Michigan the son of Burleigh "Bert" and Violet (Budd) Hawk. He married Berniece Clara Weis on May 31, 1955 in Hernando, MS. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2013. Bud is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Hawk Ridgeway of Pomona; son, Arlen (Crystal) Hawk of Wentzville, MO; two grandchildren, Jackson and Hayden Hawk; two sisters, June Coonrod of Pana and Virginia Mileur of CA; three brothers, Burleigh (Beverly) Hawk of Alto Pass, Dallas Hawk of Pomona and Homer (Janet) Hawk of Anna; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Berniece Clara Hawk. Bud served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict. Bud was a long time member of the Murphysboro Masonic Lodge #498 AF & AM . He was a very hard worker throughout his life. For over thirty years he worked in steel fabrication until his retirement. Funeral services for Everett "Bud" Hawk will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Dutch Ridge Baptist Church with Eric Hanson officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Dutch Ridge Baptist Church.
