Evelyn V."Granny" Nance

Mrs. Evelyn V. "Granny" Nance, age 87 of Cobden, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 in the Anna Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born June 2, 1927 in Cobden, the daughter of Asa and Christetta Russell Linton. She married Clifford Warren Nance on December 27, 1945 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1996. Evelyn is survived by her children, Ruth Reynolds of Cobden, Wayne (Christine) Nance of Kell, IL, and James "Speedy" (Kristin) Nance of Anna; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Warren Nance; four brothers; one sister, and one son-in-law. Evelyn was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church and later became a member of the United Methodist Church in Anna to be closer with her family. For twelve years Evelyn was "Granny" to the nurses, residents, and visitors alike in the Anna Rehab and Nursing Facility. Graveside services for Mrs. Evelyn V. "Granny" Nance will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 in the Alto Pass Cemetery with Rev. Will Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Anna United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home and at the cemetery.
